Recently I have been visiting certain venues and showcases in the city.   As the smoke clears show after show I see more and more rappers concerned with how their image is perceived trying to be received by the same streets that only a few artist really travel.  Within the last 4 years hip hop has become a very lucrative business in a lot of landscapes, especially if your very business savvy.   The point I’m driving home here is that if you’re a party rapper, MC, skateboarder, or even a thug, STAY in your own lane and create the music that speaks from your essence.

 

Music is a rainbow that creates all colors and shades, but what people seem to forget is that a rainbow grows everywhere.  Case in point is when these artist who spit about these live action stories they’ve done in the city of Chicago is that when you run across these real factions of people who live like this everyday, you seem to run back to your shell or you keep pretending, both of which only makes the situation worse for the environment of hip hop.  So within the future we can continue to nurture this great body of art that we call music and continue to grow into the forefront of hip hop.  Let it be your vessel to understand life in a world that does not embrace us.  So hip hop stand for something and embrace your life line, Stop Frontin!
